总体构思是基于场地限制下理性分析的过程；借助“类型学”的比较研究和功能需求而不断深化的结果。总体布局在集中与分区结合，功能要求与建筑理念交融基础上，以“文化”和“生态”为主题，将使馆的空间结构分为一个以院落为中心；二条交通轴线；三个功能组团的统一群体。
The general plotting is based on the process of rational analysis under the limitation of site. And the deepening results of resorting to "typology" comparative research and functional requirements. The overall layout is based on the combination of centralization and division, the integration of functional requirements and architectural concepts, regarding the "culture" and "ecology" as the theme. The spatial structure of the embassy is divided into unified community of one centered courtyard, two traffic axes and three functional groups.
设计从中国传统的园林空间中汲取灵感，从入口处的小桥流水，经过玻璃影壁，来到后面的多功能院。多功能庭院既是宴会厅的室外组成部分，又是分隔对外区和对内区的屏障，同时又有机的将两条连廊和三个功能组团联系在一起。在书房的南面是与会客室之间的一个精致的小院落，突出了书房在中国建筑中介于公共和私密之间的特殊地位。书房南侧的水院为大使官邸赢得了一个临水的空间，改善了局部的小生态环境。在馆员公寓和大使官邸之间的院落以游泳池为主体，结合活动用房，成为阳光的交流空间和远离城市的生活空间。南北、东西两个玻璃的线性空间是整个馆区最重要的交通流线，它将对外区与大使官邸两个最重要的建筑连同起来，为大使的内外沟通和内部的交流提供了便利。对外区的东西向走廊连接会客区和宴会区以及对外辅助区。对外区与大使官邸之间南北向的通廊是为大使与对外区的交流提供联系。
The design absorbs inspirations from Chinese traditional garden space, from the small bridge over the flowing stream at the entrance, through the glass screen wall, to the multi-functional courtyard at the back. The multi-functional courtyard is not only an outdoor part of the banquet hall, but also a barrier separating the external area and the internal area. At the same time, it organically connects two corridors and three functional groups. The south of the study is a delicate small courtyard between the study and the reception room, which highlights the special position of the study between public and private in Chinese architecture. The water yard on the south side of the study has won a space near the water for the ambassador's residence and improved the local small ecological environment. The courtyard between the embassy officials' apartment and the ambassador's residence takes the swimming pool as the main body and combines with the activity room to become the communication space of sunshine and the living space far away from the city. The glass linear space of North-South and East-West is the most important traffic flow line of the whole embassy area, which combines the two most important buildings of the external area and the ambassador's residence, providing convenience for the internal and external communication of the ambassador. The East-West corridor of the external area connects the reception area, banquet area and external auxiliary area. The North-South corridor between the external area and the ambassador's residence can provide the connection between the ambassador and the external area.
两条交通轴线呈丁字形布局，将整个馆区的空间划分成三个功能组团。对外区，大使官邸以及馆员公寓。三个功能组团结合院落串联而形成个空间序列，空间的时间成为了主题，使走建筑、读建筑成为可能。入口广场（外向性、尊严性）→入口门厅（内向性、防御性）→中心庭院（自然性、多功能性）→书房花园（礼仪性、文化性）→官邸水院（象征性、私密性）→运动内院（公众性、交流性），一系列重要事件的连续发生犹如传统空间序列，其中轴线尽端是最为重要的官邸，从中感受中国使馆的尊严和秩序。
The two traffic axes are in a T-shaped layout, which divides the space of the whole embassy area into three functional groups: external area, ambassador's residence and embassy officials' apartment. The three functional groups combine the courtyard to form a space sequence in series and let the time of space becomes the theme, which makes it possible to walk and read buildings. Entrance square (extroversion and dignity) → entrance hall (introversion and defensive) → central courtyard (nature and multi-function) → study garden (etiquette and culture) → official residence and water yard (symbol and privacy) → sports inner courtyard (public and communication). The continuous occurrence of a series of important events is like a traditional spatial sequence, in which the axis end is the most important residence, from which we can feel the dignity and order of the Chinese embassy.
